This is a simple recipe I came up with as a way to consume more chia seeds in the backcountry. First, I love dessert so more dessert is always good. Second, chia has a number of benefits as I have outlined in this post. Most important in my books is the large calorie-to-gram ratio and fiber content. Check it out and let me know what you think!
1/4 Package Instant Chocolate Pudding (26g)
1 Tbs Instant Milk Powder
2 Tbs Chia Seeds
1 Tbs Sliced Almonds (Optional)
Place the Instant Pudding, powdered milk and chia seeds into a ziplock or mylar bag and seal (with an oxygen absorber if appropriate).
Mark the package to add 1/2 cup water
On the Trail:
Add 1/2 Cup of filtered water and stir, let sit two minutes to set.
